Silent Hill 8 (working title) is the eighth installment of the award-winning Silent Hill developed by Vatra Games and published by konami for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Silent Hill 7 is scheduled for release in 2011.
Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. is quoted saying: "In honoring the rich history and strong following of Silent Hill, we're working hard to build a next generation horror game that the fans truly deserve... This Silent Hill introduces an all-new storyline and unique evolutions in gameplay, building on innovations and successes from over a decade of true survival horror and terror.

According to Konami, the camera will remain primarily in third-person. Silent Hill 7 will continue to offer the "mind-bending" puzzles and "thought-provoking storyline" that launched the series into mainstream fame, and will provide a "deep psychological horror experience" with multiple side-quests depending on the player's decisions and behavior.thumb|300px|right

It has not been announced when Silent Hill 7 takes place, but it is likely that the game will follow chronological order and take place some time after the events of Silent Hill 5: Homecoming. Silent Hill 7 will take place inside the town of Silent Hill.It may be in old Silent Hill or Centrel Silent Hill or even South Park Silent Hill. Only in Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 and a little bit of Silent Hill 1 that there was Paleville Silent Hill and South Vale Silent Hill. Silent Hill 1 only goes far as Paleville. Silent Hill 7 is possibly involve the nearby City and Towns of,Ashfield,Brahms,and Sheperd's Glen.
Characters[]
The main protagonist of Silent Hill 7 is Murphy Pendleton, an escaped prisoner.Muphy may appear in the Water Prison. E3's teaser trailer also indicates that a postal worker, a civilian, and a female police officer will play as supporting characters. The game begins after a prisoner-transport bus plunges into a large, otherworldly crack in the road just outside of Silent Hill. Pendleton escapes the wreckage and navigates his way through the forest and into the foggy town. It has been speculated that Pendleton, much like the protagonists of the preceding Silent Hill games, will most likely not have a pleasant stay in Silent Hill.

Silent Hill 8 is under development by Vatra Games and is in the early stages of post-production. It is published by Konami Digital Entertainment in Japan.

Soundtrack[]
It has been confirmed that Silent Hill's veteran musical score composer, Akira Yamaoka, will not return to provide his work for the game. Dan Licht, composer for the TV series Dexter, will replace him as the composer of the Silent Hill 8 soundtrack.
